(Alex wakes up alone, as usual. She goes into the kitchen and sees a note on the fridge door.)ALEX: "Alex, I left some breakfast on the counter. I hope you have a good Saturday! Love, Dad." Thanks, Dad. You never disappoint. (She sighs and finds the bacon next to the stove.) But you do forget that I'm a vegetarian. (A knock comes on the door. She answers, and her eyes widen when she sees Nick. She looks down at her too-tight tank top and too-long shorts.)ALEX: N-Nick. What are you doing here?NICK: I wanted to see if you wanted to come to breakfast with me and my brothers...Do I need to talk to your parents first?ALEX: Um. No. My dad's already working.NICK: What about your mom?ALEX: She...Uh...Died. When I was a baby. (Nick's eyes get wide.)NICK: I'm sorry!ALEX: It's okay. I didn't know her anyways...So...I guess I'll go get changed. I'm sure you don't want to be seen with a freak in crazy sleep clothes.NICK: I'm fine with it, but I understand if you want to change.ALEX: Okay. (She smiles and slips into her bedroom. When she comes out after getting dressed and brushing her teeth, Nick is sitting on the couch.)NICK: Ready?ALEX: I think so. (He stands up and takes her hand.) What are you doing?NICK: Oh, sorry. (He drops her hand.) I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable or whatever.ALEX: I just wasn't expecting it. (They walk down the hall.) I'm not used to...P.D.A.s.NICK: Public Displays of Affection? I don't really know much about the world of fame. So, I bet you have a lot of friends. ALEX: Actually, Becky's my only friend.NICK: A girl like you? I would think you'd have people begging to be your friends.ALEX: No one wants to be seen hanging out with the hotel girl.(Nick and Alex meet up with Joe, Kevin, and Frankie.)ALEX: I thought you only had two brothers?NICK: Nope. I've got three. This is Frankie.ALEX: Hi.FRANKIE: Hi.ALEX: (to Nick) You don't have any sisters popping out anywhere, do you?NICK: Nope. This is it. So, you ready to eat?ALEX: Yeah!(They sit and the waiter comes over [Hiltons are very fancy.])WAITER: Hello, Alex. I see you're branching out to higher friends.ALEX: Yes, Paul. This is Nick, Kevin, Joe, and...Frankie, right?FRANKIE: Yep.PAUL: So, you'll have your usual chocolate chip pancakes, and everyone else...?JOE: Um...I guess the Breakfast Platter...KEVIN: Me too.FRANKIE: You have pancakes shaped like BEARS here??? I'll have that.NICK: I'll just have the standard breakfast, plate, please.PAUL: How would you like your eggs?NICK: Scrambled, please. (They all hand over their menus.)(While they eat...Nick notices that Alex isn't eating, just pushing her food around.)NICK: You okay? Do you want some of my eggs?ALEX: No thanks.JOE: How about some bacon?ALEX: Um...No.KEVIN: Country ham?ALEX: No.FRANKIE: Freak. (Joe nudges him in the arm.) I mean. Trees. Pretty, pretty trees.ALEX: (sarcastically) He's charming.NICK: So you don't want any bacon at all?ALEX: I don't...eat meat.NICK: Really?JOE: So you're a vegetarian??KEVIN: That's what it's called, Joe.ALEX: Yeah. My mom was a chef. She made crazy good steaks, but since she died I can't bring myself to eat any meat. It's kinda strange, but that's just...the way I roll. (The guys laugh.) What?NICK: Oh, right. That wasn't a joke.ALEX: Why would it be?JOE: That's one of our songs.ALEX: Oh. (She looks at Nick, thinking she's seen him somewhere other than Becky's room.)
