Sep 19, 2008 - Thanks. I wanted the Hair Milk to work- but alas it wasn't meant to be- lol. Yeah, hair can be fickle- just because the curl pattern is the same, the hair can be more coarse, dense, fine, etc... today I'm on day two of the concoction that I created- it's good but too greasy- once I get the formal down then I will post the results. What other products do you use?

Sep 21, 2008 - Curlyfoodie your hair is beautiful. Your is like my hair, wow. I am trying some hair products to strengthen and grow my hair longer. This is my test for about six months.

Sep 27, 2008 - hi, do you like Hair Rules better than Miss Jessie's?

javajive01 Says:

Sep 27, 2008 - OMG!!! you're the first sister that has my exact hair type. I have to straw set it and that is how I get the kinky curly look otherwise it's a bit too straight. Please continue to talk about probucts that you have tried. Love your comments and your hair looks great too!

curlyfoodie Says:

Sep 27, 2008 - It's really cool when you go natural and you see your hair in it's natural condition. As you can see my hair is more deep wavey on top then it's kinky spirals in the crown and looser curls in the back and sides- the trick is dealing with all the textures to achieve some sort of unity. I'm one of Miss Jessie's biggest fans- but Hair Rules works better for me- I recently switched to their "curl whip" which is divine. My shea butter mixture-ended up being better for my legs than my hair :(

Sep 29, 2008 - I heard a lot about hair rules, I cant wait to try it

curlyfoodie Says:

Sep 29, 2008 - let me know how it works for you.

Sep 30, 2008 - Looking at your texture, i can imagine what mine might look like as it grows. You have a beautiful texture and i love the fullness of it! Can you make the product with only the shea butter and aloe? I will have to email you! Great video :)

Sep 30, 2008 - OMG!! I luv your hair. it's so cute, and it actually looks like my curl pattern, but my hair is thicker than yours. I really, really want to try the hair rules kinky creme.

Oct 4, 2008 - Lol, when I was going to Howard, I lived on that Chinatown bus, so cheap! CD Hair Milk Sucked, but I love the lip gloss, lol. Shea butter doesn't work for me either, it just kinda sits on my hair, but now I know to add a tiny bit of shea butter into my mixes, which helps. Great video!!!

Oct 11, 2008 - I have almost identical texture, 3c almost 3b right at the top,3c in the back and 4a on the sides, I just did my BC in May and have major issues with keeping the sides together, do you have any suggestions? I have to wet it everyday to get curl def on the sides. Does it get easier as it gets longer? BTW I have been using bedhead control freak condish and gel, the gel is to die for. Check it out and let me know if you like it:-)

curlyfoodie Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - I use to use bedhead years ago- actually Titi or Miko use to use it- anyway it does get easier as your hair gets longer- 1- because the length weighs it down 2- you become use to dealing with your hair- I sleep with my hair in a puff at the top of my head and a satin bonnet- I sometimes spitz it in the morning with water/vegetable glycerin

curlmebella Says:

Oct 11, 2008 - thanks so much for the info:-)

Oct 22, 2008 - Your hair is gorgeous!!

Nov 13, 2008 - your hair is the same texture as mines it's beautiful. my hair is wavy and curly.

kjonesteaches Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - Your hair does look great... Now since you swear by Miss Jessie - Did Miko put a silkener in your hair? and Do you go back for Maintenance because that is very expensive.

curlyfoodie Says:

Nov 19, 2008 - You know Miko- lol! I went to Miko twice- the first time she cut all my hair off- it was a really cute cut. 3 mos, later she "ran" a silkener thru my hair- which ended up straightening it- I had to cut it off- which sucked because her cut was so cute and EXPENSIVE! I still love her products and her cutting skills- but not the chemys or the cost. the length that is now I can style myself- and since I don't straighten my hair- i can cut it to- I trimmed it last night-lol and it looks cool- i think

kjonesteaches Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - Wow...the silkner made it too straight. Are you sure your hair is a 4b? Do you still get the silkener or are you soley relying on the Shea Butter and Miss J's products because your hair looks good.

curlyfoodie Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - no- that was my first and LAST time- I like my curly kinks- even when it's full (frizzy-lol). I can't do the shea butter- it leaves my hair to greasy and weighed down (check the video- lol)but I do use the concoction as a deep before wash conditioner. I've been using Hair Rules and Mixed chicks lately. Funny I was just checking Miss J website and they had a warning about the results of the silkner and how it can straighten your hair- would of like to have been warned. My hair is curly/wavey.

kjonesteaches Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - Thanks... i just feel so indecisive about what to do with my hair. My cousin keeps telling me I need to love my natural hair - which i do (somewhatt) It just needs to be tamed and I am considering the oh so expensive silkener..

curlyfoodie Says:

Nov 20, 2008 - I agree with your cousin. Don't get a silkener to "tame" your hair. Embrace the wildness. What is it that you love about your hair? Putting chemicals in it will change your hair- and there's a risk of overprocessing and the next thing you know- you set yourself back several months or years. your hair changes with growth and "training". What are your hair goals? What is your hair type? There are so many great products out now to help tame your hair

splinta24 Says:

Nov 21, 2008 - What's your hair type?

splinta24 Says:

Nov 21, 2008 - You answered the question later in the video thanx.

curlyfoodie Says:

Nov 21, 2008 - according to Anthony Dickey- my hair is fine and curly

kjonesteaches Says:

Nov 21, 2008 - You sound like my cousin and your right I do need a reality check. But I've worn my hair in weaves, braids, wigs, short & long permed hair. And It took me 32 yrs to realize that my hair grows best natural. But I need to get over the shock of seeing my hair. I remember one time I went and got my natural hair twisted and it was too short for me so the next day i had the kinky twist extensions on the end. I need some HAIRAPY bad!!! Like Hair Meetings or something...
