Rather than approach the electric "faux" candle with the typical random on/off time, mine uses a random seed generated by environmental static on the 0PIN port of the Arduino.Using this I generate two random values, one for the "time increment" and another for the "max value".From these two variables the lamp quickly fades up and down on a SIN wave with the peak of the wave as the "max" value and the time to reach and then descend determined by the increment variable. Each is regenerated on the completion of one full fade in/out.I just plunked it in a bone china mug for testing - it's quite pretty, although difficult to capture on video without a lot of noise from the high ISO.
