The first article analyzed from the Economist, "A funny kind of reward", talks a about a new oilfield found in Brazilian seas. This new oilfield would provide about 8 billion barrels, but there are two inconvenients concerning the location. With the discoverment of this oilfield, Brazilian government wants to establish a state company to maximize their profit form oil, threatening Petrobras, a partially private company supported by foreign investment. What will be the impacts of this newoilfield in the future prices of oil? How will Brazilian government's decision affect their economy and foreign investors?The second article, "To stay or not to stay", talks about the French troops in Afghanistan. The increasing number of French casulaties in Afghanistan is inclining population towards the retreat of French troops.
