This part of the game is the first part of the first dungeon. As such, even with just Reimu it's not that hard. The key is to save some better spellcards for later. Fortunately, her weakest magic-based spellcard and her weakest melee-based spellcard (which I never used) both have a count of 99.The door with the Ying-Yang orb is confusing, and I know there's a bunch of stuff behind it, but I don't think you can access it yet.
