He kissed her in the pouring rain. The way Holly always imagined her first kiss. "Do you think I am saying it for you not to go to college now?" Joe asked when they pulled apart. Holly shook her head while smiling and he kissed her again. "Holly?" Joe asked through the phone speaker. "Hey." Holly said softly into the speaker. Joe could tell she was upset. "What is wrong?" Joe asked. "I don't know if we should go out Joe." Holly said."Why?" Joe asked even though he was going to say the same thing. "Because well you are going on tour pretty soon and then when you come back I would be getting ready to go to college. We just wouldn't have time together. Sorry." Holly said. "It is okay because truthfully I wasn't too fond of being away from a girl that I would barely see. Sorry but it just didn't work in my head." "Yeah. Well for now, let us just stick to being friends." Holly said while laughing. "Yeah that might be a good thing." Joe said laughing with her. "Well I have to go study for tomorrow's quiz. See ya tomorrow." Holly said while hangi ng up. "See ya." Joe said softly to himself while he hung the phone up. "What is wrong Joe?" Nick asked only hearing 'See ya.' "Nothing." Joe said. "Okay, oh but Mom wanted to see you, Kevin, and me downstairs." Nick said. "Okay." Joe said while getting up. But before turning off his light he looked over to Holly's house dripping wet just like she was when him and her were outside only a couple minutes ago. "Guys sit down." Mr. Jonas said. Joe nick and Kevin sat on the couch. "Me and your mom were thi nking that we should go on a vacation. The whole family and Holly. We asked Holly's mom and she said that it would be wonderful. We were planning to go when Joe and Nick had off. That would be in November. That first week." "Wait Holly could come?" Joe asked while his eyes brightened up. "Yes Holly could come." Mr. Jonas said looking at Joe and sitting on the couch behind him. "We were planning to go to Hawaii. And Holly's mom is going to come too." "Hawaii?" Nick asked excitedly. Mr. Jonas nodded. "Guys now go to bed. We can talk more tomorrow but after school tomorrow we have to go to the radio interview." Their father said. "Okay Night mom! Night dad!" Jo e Nick and Kevin said while going upstairs to get ready for bed. "Joe are you ready? Holly is waiting for you!" Mrs. Jonas said while to the kitchen where Joe was eating his food. "Okay ready!" Joe said while coming out of the kitchen with his brown paper bagged lunch. "Bye mom" "Bye Joe! Bye Holly!" Mrs. Jonas said while Joe and Holly waved behind them. "Hey Joe!" Holly said. Thinking about the previous night it was a little bit awkward but they weren't going to let that little kiss that meant nothing to either one of them interfere with their friendship.
