http://www.killeratlarge.com14 time Olympic Gold Medalist, Michael Phelps, got paid a ton of money to be a role model for kids... helping to sell McDonald's cheeseburgers and Frosted Flakes. The guy eats 12,000 calories a day... Kids nationwide are saying "I wanna be like Mike". But unless they're swimming those calories off for 6 hours a day, they're totally screwed.

Sep 19, 2008 - We cannot blame Michael Phelps for our obesity problems. We have to be accountable for our own choices. He has always been very clear that, yes, he eats whatever he wants, but he also swims, on average, 4,000 laps a day (not to mention his weight lifting) and has always advocated a healthy, and preferably athletic, lifestyle.

Oct 1, 2008 - I agree. And as far as them talking about children, well, parents are responsible for what their children eat, not these sports figures and celebrities. I believe that, instead letting children sit in front of the tv or play video games all the time, the parents should make them go outside and play sometimes. Mine go outside everyday and have a blast!!! After the finish their homework, of course.
