As a Minnesotan I have been looking forward to having the Republican National Convention (RNC) in St. Paul. I decided to blog the event as I thought it would be a memorable time. I will not forget it but not for the reason I had thought! The Anarchists and the problems they cause kind of made it a disappointing time for me.

MarxBakuninMe Says:
Sep 25, 2008 - Anarchists want society to be run from below in a highly organised fashion. And us "idiots" have been quite successful in the past.
JJJNProductions Says:
Sep 25, 2008 - It doesn't work to run a society from the bottom. There needs to be a few people chosen by the common people who have power and influence and write laws and enforce them.Otherwise...for example...I decide to kill you, and all of my friends decided that was ok and gave me the go ahead. Who would then hold me accountable for murder if their is no government? Ok, your friends decide to kill me out of a sense of justice and then my friends kill them for the same reason. Where would it end?
MarxBakuninMe Says:
Sep 25, 2008 - This presupposes that there would be no authority or law in an anarchist society. It is illegitimate authority that we oppose. In an anarchist society, some police force would be necessary. Please do not mistake the state with its apparatus.
JJJNProductions Says:
Sep 25, 2008 - Then your not a true anarchist. Here is the dictionary definition of anarchist, take note of #2 and #3. 1. a person who advocates or believes in anarchy or anarchism. 2. a person who seeks to overturn by violence all constituted forms and institutions of society and government, with no purpose of establishing any other system of order in the place of that destroyed. 3. a person who promotes disorder or excites revolt against any established rule, law, or custom.
JJJNProductions Says:
Sep 25, 2008 - I am a conservative. Limited goverment that's what I like, but no anarchist bullcrap, government is nessesary for certain things. I don't like all of this bailout talk right now, let the free market run it's course. Some will fall, others will rise, the businesses that don't have something the consumer wants or that made bad choices will fall and new businesses will rise.
afbclub Says:
Sep 27, 2008 - Anarchy is freedom. Dont be scared. THE PIGS WERE BEING PIGS! You all have been watching too much TV and listening to propaganda.
bananathrash Says:
Sep 27, 2008 - there were way too many grammatical errors in this video.
revdonovan Says:
Sep 28, 2008 - the police are a military. look up the definition, and look up the etymology. the police aren't citizens, they are a part of the U.S.'s many different branches of military organization, one specific to within our borders, and they're damn proud of it.martial law is declared by the executive branch, and the gov. of mn gave the go ahead...plus, these people were peaceful. a gov. that kills peaceful people trying to be active in their gov. is a corrupt one against the people. they took our rights
JJJNProductions Says:
Sep 28, 2008 - The police are NOT military, they are law enforcement. The military is part of the Federal government, poice are local and state and not hired by the Federal government.Martial law is only an order given to the military that means they act as police. The MN police already had the authority, it was not declared by the government. Also I didn't notice any peaceful protesters being killed or even violent protesters for that matter. And most of those arrested also were released, no charges
JJJNProductions Says:
Sep 28, 2008 - Anarchy is BS, it doesn't work. Like I said to MarxBakuninMe, what if I decide to kill you? Is there anyone to hold me responsible for murdering you? There is no government so anything I decide is right I can do right? What if you owed me $ and couldn't pay so me and some pals came over to your house and beat you to within an inch of your life and kidnapped your wife as collateral? Who would hold us accountable?
revdonovan Says:
Sep 29, 2008 - the police serve and protect, not enforce laws. they also act as the states' form of military support for laws. they are military, and not civilians, dressed with honors for deaths of the "bad guys".the police never have authority to violently disband a peaceful, lawful assembly of the people petitioning for a redress of grievances.
revdonovan Says:
Sep 29, 2008 - they deliberately use what are known as "less-lethal" weapons, named so because they are lethal, just not as frequently as assault rifles to the head. in my books, and the law books, that's assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. also, being released with no charges doesn't make being wrongfully and violently arrested alright. in fact, it's more of an insult, saying the police overstepped their bounds but the courts don't care.
JJJNProductions Says:
Sep 29, 2008 - The state's form of military support is called the national guard NOT the police. And yes, cops get to arrest or shoot the bad guys to protect the law abiding citizens of their city.If the protest was peaceful and inside of the law they wouldn't disband it, but there are always complete idiots mixed in with many of those peaceful protests and who cause trouble for the cops and the peaceful protesters. Some of the mass arrests were from the protests whose permit to protest had run out.
m0bi Says:
Oct 3, 2008 - nice eerie music.anyway, if you're a Minnesotan going to the RNC, then you would have heard about the organizing that local anarchists have been doing in that area for a year & a half BEFORE the convention even occured. While St. Paul anarchists are in no way responsible for all that occured (how could they be, anarchists don't have leaders), they did let the community know ahead of time what to expect & why they should join in.There are countless books on anarchism, feel free to pick one up.
ToSeeThingsClear Says:
Oct 3, 2008 - We would have some kind of council that would take care to protect the rights of people. I don't get why you need a state for that. Anarchist are not against organization, there against top-down organization i.e. states, corporations, ect.
JJJNProductions Says:
Oct 3, 2008 - And what is a "council"? An organization that is top-down, all organizations are top-down. There is the "the big man" and he employs "the little men." That is how a coporation is run, and that is the only way it will work. Otherwise if you have too many people trying to make decisions, nothing ever gets done.Sorry to all of the anarchists out there, but government is necessary, without leadership, there would be only chaos.
universoulllllll Says:
Oct 13, 2008 - The real violence took place INSIDE the RNC. Republicans are TERRORISTS. The police are terrorists. The banks are terrorists. Our government officials are terrorists. People should be more angry. Protesting is ridiculous.
gmanXXIV Says:
Oct 13, 2008 - What, in your opinion, is the 'real problem'?
chomskyFTW Says:
Oct 31, 2008 - The point of anarchist protest is forcible disruption of political events. If there is, as we contend, a serious moral problem with the very existence of the State, then surely forcible resistance is justified. Furthermore, if there is a moral problem with the existence of the State, then any police action to counter the protest is automatically illegitimate and the protesters have a right to defend themselves.
jackriter Says:
Nov 2, 2008 - Democrats are just as bad.
jackriter Says:
Nov 2, 2008 - Actually during the Spanish Revolution, Catalonia was an anarchist territory before it was overrun by Fascists. What toseethings is proposing is Council Communism. All organizations are not top down, think about the CNT, IWW, and many movements like that of Gahndi. As far as oweing money, capitalism cannot exist without the state. Respond to me if you want a link to free anarchist literature. I have more to say but can't fit it into the comment.
MarxBakuninMe Says:
Nov 8, 2008 - Ah, quoting the dictionary. Well, there is over 150 years of anarchist philosophy which does not correspond with those definitions. Try reading some of it before quoting something as cerebral and informed as the, eh . . . "dictionary".
IrishDroog Says:
Nov 16, 2008 - What, are you that naive?? you didn't foresee any of these problems? Fucking retard, huh. Of course, the black bloc was going to show up at the RNC, people have had 8 years of Republican rule and are sick of it...you've obviously never been to a protest before. Ignoramus...
RebelWithoutASauce Says:
Nov 17, 2008 - Where are the anarchists? I saw Obama signs and people probably hired by the police.

JJJNProductions Says:
Sep 25, 2008 - Good to finally see someone who has some common sense! After seeing all of the "police brutality" videos posted from the RNC, it really makes me wish I would have gone for a couple days with my camera and show what was really going on.Now....revdonovan- martial law is declared by the military not the police.KafkaCrow- if your an anarchist, your an idiot.Anarchists want no government, and that would not be a pretty picture. It would be just like the old West.
