The attacker had barged into the UNP office. Nearly 85 were wounded.Inquiries conducted so far have revealed that the suicide attacker had triggered the explosion in the midst of the invitees when the UNP office was to be opened this morning. Among others killed was UNP Anuradhapura Organiser Dr. Johnpulle. Several Provincial Councillors are among the dead. An Anuradhapura Regional Correspondent Rashmi Mahroof was another victim.Our Special Representative Sudharman Raddaliyagoda reporting from the scene of the blast said it happened opposite the Electricity Board. The blast went off when the UNP office was to be declared open. He said the attack was unleashed by an LTTE suicide bomber. The Police have recovered his head. The attacker was also a participant in the inaugural function. Nearly 80 injured persons have been admitted to the Anuradhapura Hospital. Immediate surgeries were carried out on those who were critically injured. Security in the area has been stepped up.This yet another true color of LTTE!
