The Who - Go to the Mirror!"There's a Doctor"/"Go to the Mirror" - Tommy's parents find a medical specialist to once more try to understand and cure his symptoms. After numerous tests, they are told that there is nothing medically wrong with him, and that his problems are psychosomatic. However, as they are trying to reach him, Tommy's subconscious is also trying to reach out to them. "Go to the Mirror!" is a song written by Pete Townshend of The Who. It appears as the fifteenth track on the group's first rock opera, Tommy (1969). "Go to the Mirror!" is included on the list of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.It is sung by a doctor who tells Tommy's parents that, after numerous tests, there is nothing medically wrong with him, and his problems are psychosomatic. However, as they are trying to reach him, Tommy's subconscious is also trying to reach out to them.In the movie version of Tommy, the doctor is played by Jack Nicholson. Some sources list this song's title as "Go to the Mirror, Boy!" However, it is most commonly called "Go to the Mirror!"The song also contains elements of what would be the final track on the album, "See Me, Feel Me".Lyrics:He seems to be completely unreceptiveThe tests I gave him show no sense at allHis eyes react to light, the dials detect itHe hears but cannot answer to your callSee me, feel me, touch me, heal meSee me, feel me, touch me, heal meThere is no chance, no untried operationAll hope lies with him and none with meImagine, though, the shock from isolationWhen he suddenly can hear and speak and seeSee me, feel me, touch me, heal meSee me, feel me, touch me, heal meHis eyes can see, his ears can hear, his lips speakAll the time the needles flick and rockNo machine can give the kind of stimulationNeeded to remove his innerblockGo to the mirror, boyGo to the mirror, boyI often wonder what he's feelingHas he ever heard a word I've said?Look at him, in the mirror dreamingWhat is happening in his head?Listening to you, I get the musicGazing at you, I get the heatFollowing you, I climb the mountainsI get excitement at your feetRight behind you, I see the millionsOn you, I see the gloryFrom you, I get opinionsFrom you, I get the storyWhat is happing in his head?Oo, I wish I knew, I wish I knew.

Nov 23, 2008 - This song is fantastic! Tommy is the most melodious of all the Who albums. The later ones rocked more, but this album just has so many classic melodies.

Nov 2, 2008 - I love this song. I think it's one of the most underrated songs by the Who. Basically everything but "Pinball Wizard" on Tommy is underrated.
