Our Koi carp & goldfish enjoying a sunny September afternoon. The pond is stream fed and not lined. The biggest fish are about 11 inches long (that is a woman's 11 inches not a fishermans) Notice the dragonfly at the start, a Common Darter I think.

Sep 28, 2008 - This is cool. Is this your pond? How do you keep Grey Herons from eating the carp?

Sep 28, 2008 - Love Koi and would love a pond someday but enough to do with the aquarium to keep me going for now.The Goldfish are easily 6 man inches right but would probably get depressed if you showed 6 woman inches lol.

Sep 29, 2008 - We have resident crows who come for the food we give the hens. They are good at sending any other predators away. They steal the odd egg but as long as the heron doesn't land thats fine by me. It used to regularly but there is also a lot of cover in the pond for the fish to hide away now. Did you spot the Common Darter at the start?
